The Upper Room
John C. Slemp (unknown)
In the quiet hours of morning, when Thy presence fills this place, in the upper room we gather, Spirit God, to seek Thy face.
Here we come with every burden, here we come with all our care; in the upper room with Jesus, offer here our morning prayer.
In the quietude of reverence, as the world moves on its way, here we tarry for a moment, seek Thy guidance for the day. [Refrain]
In the gentle hush of music we forget our toils and tears; in the sacred hour of worship find release from all our fears. [Refrain]
In the hour of blest communion Thou dost bid our cares to cease; as we contemplate Thy goodness, Thou dost give eternal peace. [Refrain]
